Your Journey
Day 1
Arrival & Drive to Udawalawe
Arrive at CMB Airport and meet your private chauffeur/driver—your window into Sri Lanka’s landscapes.
The journey south passes lush paddy fields, coconut groves, and rural villages, setting the tone for the wildlife adventure ahead.
Check in at your lodge near Udawalawe, ready for the first encounters with wild elephants.
Visit the Elephant Transit Home — watch orphaned calves fed and cared for before release into the wild.
Day 2
Safari in Udawalawe
Embark on an early-morning 4WD safari in Udawalawe National Park. Observe herds of Asian elephants roaming freely, while water buffalo, spotted deer, and crocodiles inhabit the surrounding wetlands.
Birdwatchers will delight in over 180 species of birds including kingfishers, storks, and egrets during an afternoon nature walk along the park’s edge.
Day 3
Transfer to Yala National Park
Drive through changing landscapes, from open plains to dry forests, to reach Yala National Park, home to one of the highest leopard densities in the world. Stop en route for scenic photography or a short nature stroll.
If time permits upon check-in, enjoy a sunset safari to spot elephants, leopards, and crocodiles.
Day 4
Full Day Safari in Yala
Enjoy a full-day jeep safari across Yala’s grasslands, bush, lagoons, and forests. Track elusive leopards, observe elephants in family herds, and watch crocodiles bask at waterholes. Endemic birds and small mammals add rich variety to this immersive wildlife experience.
Visit Bundala Wetlands, a haven for migratory flamingos and pelicans.
Day 5
Return to CMB Airport
Enjoy a final early morning nature walk or optional safari before departing.
Travel north through scenic plains and hills, reflecting on the vivid wildlife and untouched beauty of Sri Lanka. Arrive at CMB Airport for your onward flight.
